A new effort aimed at assisting selected LinkedIn creators in developing their LinkedIn skills and maximising their in-app visibility has been unveiled by LinkedIn as an extension of its Creator Accelerator Program. Participants will access tools and technologies to help them initiate discussions, create active communities, and connect to relevant opportunities on LinkedIn over the 6-week programme.
In addition, participants will get $12,000 apiece. LinkedIn is bringing in several new mentors and advisors to its platform training process, including Sherrell Dorsey, the creator of “The Plug,” and podcasters Colin Rosenblum and Samir Chaudry. Like other platforms, LinkedIn aims to retain its most popular creators by publishing more often. Additionally, given that the network continues to see “record levels” of engagement, LinkedIn wants to support this trend by incorporating more thought leadership material into users’ feeds.
Because you can post your business thinking material elsewhere, it can seem less critical for LinkedIn to provide additional incentives for its producers. Even if the platform isn’t competing for creative talent in the same way as the well-known video applications, it makes sense to provide more direct incentives since these producers can earn money by guest blogging and posting on other websites.
You can apply to participate in the programme here if you are interested in enhancing your LinkedIn profile. To be eligible, you must be over 18 years old, live in the US, and have a history of “leading professional dialogues about the workplace.” In the first round of its Creator Accelerator Program, which LinkedIn introduced in September, participants received a $15k cash stipend in addition to a 10-week training.
For this new expansion, both have been scaled down, and the emphasis is now more narrowly on “Technology and Innovation,” which LinkedIn claims is the top industry for creators on the network.
