LinkedIn Looks to Make ‘Repost’ a Default Post Engagement Option

The initial prototype of LinkedIn’s new “Repost” option on feed updates, which offers a convenient method to help magnify a post to your LinkedIn audience, was released last month. That may be excellent for letting your network know about new job openings, trend reports unique to your business, inspiring artists to follow, etc.

However, as we pointed out at the time, it might also be problematic since it will make it possible for critiques and unfavourable remarks to be amplified quickly. LinkedIn wants to go one step further by making the Repost option the default one, complete with its icon on each post’s bottom function bar.

That makes sense in some respects. Currently, there are four ways to interact with a post: “Like,” “Comment,” “Share,” and “Send,” with the last giving you the option to share the article through LinkedIn messaging. The “Share” button allows you to repost the update or “Share with your opinions,” which means you may attach this update to a new post.

It wouldn’t be a major adjustment to alter it to “Repost,” but it may make it simpler to urge your followers to share your articles on their accounts to increase their reach.

The trend indicates that more individuals are probably just reposting information in any case, which is why LinkedIn wants to make it the default. However, I have some reservations because of previous attempts at the same thing. However, I’m not sure how much value it offers compared to just boosting engagement. In any case, LinkedIn seems to be moving forward, which may affect how users interact with the app. It will be fascinating to observe how the change affects things, and maybe LinkedIn will, at some point, provide some explanation.
