Whatsapp launches new community feature specifically for group discussions

WhatsApp has announced on its blog that it has initiated releasing communities out widely. The new features comprise the ability to have groups that add up to 512 people and emoji reactions.

Another crucial upgrade is the capacity to send files up to 2GB, up from the preceding limit of 100MB. WhatsApp anticipates this new update will encourage more WhatsApp-based online communities and bring some excellent quality-of-life advancements.

The Community update is one of the most fantastic additions to the Meta-owned platform. Under WhatsApp, communities will surround a gathering of separate groups. They will permit organizations like local clubs, schools and non-profits to come under one umbrella and get things done more effectively.

WhatsApp also wrote in a blog post:

“People can receive updates from the entire community and easily organize smaller discussion groups on what matters to them.”

Community admins will get access to powerful tools to control the groups. They will be able to broadcast all kinds of messages to everyone in the community.
Furthermore, WhatsApp ensures that chats inside the communities will be end-to-end encrypted.

You can also react to WhatsApp messages by making use of various kinds of emojis. The group’s Admins will be able to remove offending notices from everyone’s chats. The limit of file-sharing will be raised to 2GB.

And finally, one-tap voice calls will now permit up to 32 people to talk to each other.
